It depends on what your definition of "is" is
edit"The carbon to oxygen double bond is also an oxonium ion...." I don't see how a bond can be an ion, or vice versa, considering that ions have mass, and bonds don't. Could it be that "is" isn't the right verb here? Unfree (talk) 07:47, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Pyrylium salt → Pyrylium – Unnecessary qualification for an organic compound; cf. Thiopyrylium. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 16:29, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support, article is about the ion, not just salts from it. We also have N-Oxoammonium salt that should be moved if there is consensus here. Other articles add "ion" or "cation" instead of "salt", but WP:CONCISE favors the simpler name unless other forms exist besides the cation, e.g. following the example of ammonium. There may need to be some clarification at WP:NCCHEM about this. Mdewman6 (talk) 16:31, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

- Comment: The linked Wikidata item, pyrylium (Q2091193), already refers to the ion. The item for the salt is pyrylium salt (Q31838810). 73.223.72.200 (talk) 03:59, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
