Referendums and plebiscites in the PhilippinesReferendums in the Phillipines – This article has been moved more than twice in the past 7 days. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:11, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

This article has been moved more than twice in the past 7 days. FWIW, I see that "referendum" refers to a general term for an electoral exercise that involves voting but not actual people, and "plebiscite" refers to a subset of electoral exercises of referendums. Other people may interpret this differently. Howard the Duck (talk) 22:19, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

2024 Special Geographic Area plebiscites

edit

@Howard the Duck: Were the 2024 Special Geographic Area plebiscites municipal-wide plebiscites? HueMan1 (talk) 23:24, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Good question; it does not, but led to creation of new municipalities. The criteria for inclusion is "These plebiscites involved entire municipalities or cities, asked for the incorporation of a new municipality, or asked for cityhood" (emphasis mine).
FWIW, I would still prefer that plebiscite article to be merged with the primary SGA one. Howard the Duck (talk) 23:29, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
