@Neveselbert (mobile): Just a bit confused by your edits to link terms in the lead (feminist writer, lesbian feminist and strong female characters)? They seem unnecessary to me in terms of aiding reader understanding (as pretty commonly understood terms), but I may be missing something. I'm also not sure strong female character is appropriate here as this phrase was just my summary of descriptions of her characters in reliable sources, rather than intending to refer to the archetype/stock character that this page is about. @Chocmilk03: I wouldn't think they're unnecessary. feminist writer redirects to Feminist literature, which is a fairly well-written article. lesbian feminist redirects to Lesbian feminism, another fairly comprehensive article. strong female characters is also decently written. I ran the WP:COMMONTERMS script after I added those links and they were not delinked, hence why I undid your edit as it was potentially misleading. As for Strong female character, I see your point there, and it can be delinked on that basis. The other links seem fine to me. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 18:05, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Neveselbert:Thanks for the response! I'm not sure that the articles being well-written is enough reason to link to them. The MOS:OL guidance seems to me more about what will assist the reader's understanding.
That said, I'm fine to leave feminist writer in and think that could be helpful. I'd also be OK with lesbian feminism being linked. I note MOS:LINKSTYLE says to be conservative with links inside quotations and suggests linking terms outside quotations where necessary. But it's probably fine, I'm not too fussed. Strong female characters was the main one I was concerned about.
P.S. thanks for explaining about the script. I was confused as I'd seen your edit summary referring to delinking qnd couldn't quite follow why the edit instead added links. I now understand how that worked! Cheers, Chocmilk03 (talk) 18:58, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Feminist literature is reasonably useful, but per Choc (LINKSTYLE), it’s safer not to link to the Lesbian feminism movement from a quote when it’s not clear she didn’t mean the concepts “lesbian” and “feminist” individually. — HTGS (talk) 21:58, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
