I just finished watching Series 6 of the PBS Original UK Edition of Inspector Lewis and was looking to see if there was a series/season 7 because DS Hathaway and DI Lewis are both discussing retirement. When I looked here, the episodes I just viewed were listed as series 7. Is the US version numbered differently or is there indeed a mix-up? sotovm@mindspring.com Feb 7, 201566.75.254.249 (talk) 05:08, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Episode length - UK US, DVD vs Broadcast
editThe US PBS broadcasts are editing out about ten minutes of content. The US DVDs are over 90 min per episode. The US PBS broadcasts are edited down to about 81 min of derived content. The runtimes listed in the main article seem somewhat wrong?
The US PBS DVDs are labelled prominently with "ORIGINAL UK EDITION". This is obviously not strictly true, since they contain minor amounts of added PBS/MM content. How do they compare to UK DVDs and broadcasts? Is any content left out? (How do they handle broadcasting extra-long episodes in the UK?) <-- Ad breaks on UK commercial TV stations are shorter and fewer than in the United States.
2012 - UK6 - PBS5 - US DVD "ORIGINAL UK EDITION" x01 GENIUS 93:34 minus 0:36 start -> 93 min x02 VIPERS 91:20 (0:00 start) x03 SYM 93:34 minus 0:39 start -> 93 min x04 STAIN 92:01 (0:00 start)

- I came to the article hoping to see episode length, but I don't see it. Am I missing something or did someone remove the episode lengths, and if so, why? Wickorama (talk) 07:48, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
Some of the Pilot-and-Complete sets of US DVDs proclaim FULL UK-LENGTH EDITION. But are they just re-issues with the same edited versions of the early episodes, or have they gone back and remastered the early eps to actually be full UK length?-71.174.175.63 (talk) 19:42, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
Can any interested party please comment on the AfD for this episode? Gbawden (talk) 11:48, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- Well there was no consensus (or interest) at the AfD, but this was then presumably used as a reason for an undiscussed merge of it today, two and half years later, by an editor who has been active for a month.
- But it's not Marvel Comics, so I guess the Brits should be grateful they've been allowed to keep a skimpy list article at all. Andy Dingley (talk) 01:23, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Inspector Lewis Seasons 2 & 3
editOn the Masterpiece website and on US DVDs of this series, Season 2 has the first 7 episodes that are listed in Season 2 and 3 on Wikipedia. The last episode of Season 3 (episode 12) is listed as the first episode of Season 3 on my sources. Season 8 is listed as the final season.
This is my first comment on Wikipedia and I hope I'm following the protocol. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rue5514j (talk • contribs) 20:36, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
