editThis article pretty much just copies the first part of the ABC article cited, which is a very good example of the inability of most reporters to make any sense of science. The ABC article is a sensationalized piece on what is very good science, but so badly presented that biologists would think it is a joke. Not encyclopedic, but I won't RFD as the basic subject is serious. - Marshman 18:26, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I discovered there are two more page to the article, which convinces me the guy that wrote it made up the term "resurrection ecology". I'm more convinced that what is described is just a technique, has been around for a long time (long dormant seeds are well documented), and simply demonstrates natural selection—something demonstrated in tens of thousands of other ways and all of time by biologists. Not worthy of an article, at least not under this terminology - Marshman 19:57, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
There a podcast episode by the TWIT network which discusses this topic in detail here:
Dr Kiki's Science Hour Episode 11: [1]
This podcast included Dr W. Charles Kerfoot and Nelson Heirstone as guest speakers discussing this topic and you may want to review this before dismissing the whole field. - SimonZerafa (talk) 16:19, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
