Fire

edit

Need to get a section up on here about the fire at the Royal Academy. I dont feel upto it because I am not familiar with the building so I felt someone else who is, should.

Potentially useful links:

If the RA receives no royal funding and has no royal patron, what makes it royal?

Categories

edit

I am not sure why did the category "Visitor attractions in London" which was there in the revision as of 14:26, 24 October 2006 got removed in the current revision (12:55, 31 October 2006). Is it what, no longer a visitor attraction? I might consider putting it back if there are no objections.

RE revert 00:25, 31 March 2007: "This is legit. It's a wiki article. The gallery (museum) has work by RAs in it." There is no mention of the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) within the main article. Neither is there mention of RA in RWA's own article. Tate Modern/Britain, NGA, Wallace Collection, NY's Metropolitan Museum of Art, and goodness knows what else, also have work by RAs -- are links from the RA article to these galleries and museums going to be introduced too? It is worth noting that 86.131.81.203 has been embedding the link in many other Wikipedia articles over the past 2 days. In some cases, these edits have already been reverted. — Pádraig Coogan 22:35, 31 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Complete lists-in-progress of RAs, ARAs and Hon RAs

edit

I have created the following talk-space listings of RAs, ARAs, and Hon RAs, drawing from the information at Wikidata (believed complete, as of January 2018), together with links (or not) to their article here, category at Commons, and some external databases, including the RA. This should help prioritise/highlight Academicians that pages could be created for, or Commons categories, or more Wikidata matches to external databases.

The lists are automatically re-generated by Magnus's Listeria bot, to keep them daily up to date with the entries at Wikidata.

For better or worse Listeria lists are not currently allowed in mainspace here, but with luck this should help us identify and close some gaps in our coverage. It would be good if we could get it in really good shape, in this year of #RA250. Jheald (talk) 19:13, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
