I am doing a Music report on Rudolf Serkin and this Website has given me almost everything i need to know

Discography/Goldberg?

edit

He recorded far more than the crumbs we mention here, and a full discography is warranted.

Also, is this enough to make the statement that he made the very first recording of the Goldberg Variations, despite it being a piano roll, and although it wasn't released until years later? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 10:36, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

A bit short on Europe. Did he make recordings in Germany before 1933? Surely the Brahms Second Piano quartet in A was made - where? in 1932, as were violin sonatas by Beethoven with Busch and Mozart. Adolf Busch certainly did. But Serkin demonstrably did record in England - including the work in which you say he made his debut in Germany - Brandenburg Concerto No 5, and also Mozart's concerto in E Flat, K449, not to mention the Brahms Piano Quintet, the Schubert E flat trio, and the Appassionata Sonata of Beethoven. All thse appeared on HMV, latterly EMI, except for the Brandenbuergs on English Columbia Delahays (talk) 19:44, 8 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
