But seriously, maybe the article should find a way to mention his status as a prominent sex symbol (without violating POV neutrality of course.)

If he had won some award then perhaps it could be included, but I don't believe he has. Otherwise you're just adding what is essentially tabloid gossip in which case you might as well add the rumours of his circuit party attendances etc.

Well... Teen Choice Award for Sexiest love scene (with Reese) for Cruel Intentions, per IMDB. Voted "Hollywood's Sexiest Dad" by In Touch magazine readers in December 05. He's repeatedly played characters whose sex appeal figured prominently in the film's plot, as in 54, Cruel Intentions, and Gosford Park. Could we mention something like that?

While everyone I've talked to believes that Mr. Phillippe did forget to take his ugly pill, beauty is still subjective and not truly encyclopedic. But for those who must be vindicated, I added a line that could at least be misconstrued as NPOV. NorrYtt 23:37, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

One way you could mention about his looks (I think legitimately), is that he started out on his career path when, at the age of 15, he was spotted for his looks in a hairdressers by a woman who introduced him to an agency which consequently got him casted in tv commercials, and from that happenstance opportunity he was able to move into acting. Edit: Sorry I see the article already mentions about him being spotted, but in a recent newspaper interview he concedes that it was because of his looks. --Whimsical Oracle (talk) 17:02, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

paparazzi incident

I surfed into this page and found these paragraphs, which I've deleted:

In September 2005, Witherspoon and their children were celebrating daughter Ava's sixth birthday at Disney's California Adventure theme park when they were approached by paparazzi photographer Todd Wallace. After Witherspoon declined posing for photos at close range, police say Wallace became enraged and pushed a child out of the way, while hitting another with his camera, in his efforts to photograph the actress. Wallace also allegedly shoved two theme park employees when they attempted to restrain him, and cursed at Witherspoon, causing several children to burst into tears. As a result of the altercation, Wallace was arrested and faced misdemeanor charges.

Before the case went to trial, Wallace was found dead in his apartment in Brentwood. Police are currently investigating the cause of death. It is not yet known whether Phillippe was involved.

At least the way this is worded, it appears that suspicion is being thrown on Phillippe for this man's death. Give me a break! Since Phillippe wasn't even there at Disneyland, I don't see why this anecdote is remotely relevant to his entry. The incident bears mention only in Reese Witherspoon's entry, without innuendo. — Sandover 17:49, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry Memarna but the photo cannot simply be changed. There are stringent rules - only free photos can be used. It cannot be a copyrighted photo. Furthermore, the existing photo is very current. It was taken less than a year ago, in April 2011.

It's fixed now. There were some "smart" quotes in the markup for some reason. Probably a vandal who didn't quite know what they were doing. DpEpsilon (talk) 10:15, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
