editC'mon, that song is singing for Argentine's clubs from the 70's at least...how they can copied this little club and sing this song 30 years before?181.29.116.218 (talk) 17:22, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
The merge
edit@Mccapra:. Pro Cavese and the original "Cavese 1919" are different clubs, despite "Pro Cavese" now take a "phoenix club" role to bear "Cavese 1919" color and history. If news article and other secondary source (that can support a club stand-alone "GNG " status) were dig out, may be reviving the parallel article that currently in U.S.D. Cavese 1919 (now a redirect) to move back to Pro Cavese, and craft an article for "Pro Cavese" only? Is that ok? Certainly after the potential move, Cavese 1919 should redirect back to this article S.S. Cavese 1919. Matthew hk (talk) 03:50, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Or vice-versa? an article for the original "Cavese 1919" and another article for Pro Cavese and new Cavese 1919. Or just a section for "Pro Cavese"? Matthew hk (talk) 03:53, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Matthew hk:. Hi ok my mistake then, I read both articles and they seemed to be to be describing the same club, albeit with slightly different detail. One possible thing would just be to undo the redirect and restore an earlier version of the redirected article. If you know about these clubs it would be really great if you could add some detail to the articles that makes it much clearer how they are distinct, and how once came to adopt the colours of the other. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 05:05, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
- it seem secondary source treat "S.S. Cavese 1919" and "Cavese 1919" are the same, and "Pro Cavese", as an amateur club, it need much effort to dig out material to make it a stand-alone passing GNG article. It may have potential but may be i just dig out some article to routine coverage in this article "Cavese 1919". In other words, the merge is fine. Matthew hk (talk) 05:13, 25 October 2018 (UTC)

S.S. Cavese 1919 → Cavese 1919 – this article, was intended for "S.S. Cavese 1919" a folded club, while U.S.D. Cavese 1919 (Pro Cavese), was an article for the phoenix club (or a club that in some point in parallel existence with S.S. Cavese 1919). According to the content at "U.S.D. Cavese 1919", both clubs somehow merged. The current team was simply called "Cavese 1919" in 2018, and those secondary source considered "S.S. Cavese 1919" and "Cavese 1919" are the same, thus this article, covered both old and new "Cavese 1919", should move to current common and official name "Cavese 1919" Matthew hk (talk) 04:18, 25 October 2018 (UTC)

- @GiantSnowman: Since both wiki articles before merge were badly sourced. Here is the first source originally on the wiki article.[1] And here is another web article that just dig out.[2] All about the new club somehow acquire the brand from the sole administrator (director; Amministratore Unico) of the old brand to continue the history of the old club. And those treatment on putting two clubs in one article is not that uncommon, given source consider they are the same and somehow a process of "merge" or licensing was happened and report by secondary source (despite those source may be in fan POV). And may be additional criteria that before the merge the history of another club is non-notable (in U.S.D. Pro Cavese case, it was a Eccellenza club) which reflect on lack of source to report the club as
Pro Cavese,Vis Sangiorgio or Città de la Cava in nationalwide, regional or community newspaper.

- For example the merge of A.C.D. Pro Piacenza 1919 and "A.S.D. Atletico B.P. Pro Piacenza" (now in one article A.S. Pro Piacenza 1919), Vicenza Calcio (ex-Lanerossi Vicenza) and Bassano Virtus 55 S.T. (now in article L.R. Vicenza Virtus), Piacenza Calcio and LibertaSpes (now in article Piacenza Calcio 1919).
- And here is the source for the name of the new team http://www.cavese1919.it, the official website. Matthew hk (talk) 13:46, 25 October 2018 (UTC) (some additional wording 00:23, 26 October 2018 (UTC))
- Support - I honestly have no idea what the nom is talking about with the phoenix clubs and whatnot, but the club that the page refers to uses the WP:COMMONNAME of "Cavese 1919", so the page name should be changed. 21.colinthompson (talk) 02:02, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Football is a complex world that sometimes had namesake, e.g. FK Bohemians Prague (Střížkov) (or more than namesake). It would be mad for people to split Rangers F.C. to two articles due to the bankruptcy, or putting MK Dons and Wimbledon F.C. back to one article.
- But in Cavese case, i had tried to fix the content and add some routine renaming, relocation content for the two clubs that eventually merged as the current club, but it seem no need to split the article OR merged the articles but not moving the final product to the right article title.
