editI have following text deleted, because its bullshit, it refers to Saar 5 and not to Saar 4.5: "The Saar 4.5 is the smallest craft to incorporate a helicopter hangar. The ship can carry two Dolphin helicopters, one on the landing pad and the other inside the hangar."
The claim is indeed correct. There are actually two different Saar 4.5 classes. One class is usually called Aliya class and only consists of two ships, Aliya and Geoula. Both ships were sold to the Mexican Navy in 2004. This class has a helicopter hangar and can operate the Dauphin helicopter. The other class (Hetz class) is a missile boat without a hangar. Combat history
editIs there any proof to the claim that a Saar 4.5 boat was hit and destroyed? -- Adeptitus 17:13, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Not to my knowledge, the provided picture is clearly a weapons test of some sort. Look closely at the ship, it has been stripped down and the keel is broken which likely indicates a torpedo stest. -- Shawn
Picture of attack on Saar 4.5
editThis picture isnt of a Saar 4.5, the deck of the ship is completely clear. The picture is of a staged weapons test. Besides an INS ship breaking in two isn't something that could be kept quiet for long.
Boat Length
editThe boat length is 58m and 4m longer than the Saar 4 which is also 4m. One of the two figures is wrong. 82.166.180.110 03:15, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Roy
Most potent combat vessel in the world?
editReally, got any sources for this highly dubious statement of OR. If so, cite them when you replace the delete garbade text. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.137.207.191 (talk) 03:03, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
