Claudette Dame
editUnsurprisingly there is nothing online to confirm the existence of Heisman winner Claudette Dame, the 5' 2" fullback from West Texas A & M. SHe doesn't appear in lists of women who played NCAA football. the winner of the Heisman in 1950 was Vic Janowicz, and the 1950 Sun Bowl was won by Texas Western. Congratulations to whoever managed to keep her in the article for four months.
Text removed (provided for your admiration):
- Claudette Dame - First female to ever play NCAA football, as a FB. She played five years, as a West Texas A&M Buffaloes, winning both the Heisman and a Sun Bowl, in 1950. She was famed for her brutal, reckless style of play, despite her cat-like frame (5 ft,2 - 130 pounds).
