Meaning of Without the repeater]...?

edit

Under Relays, there is this sentence "Without the repeater, Morse devised a system of electromagnetic relays." The article text and the link "Relay#History|repeater" suggest that a repeater is an electromagnetic relay. Anyone have an idea of what the sentence is supposed to mean? --agr (talk) 17:16, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Needs major cleaning up

As it currently stands (September 2024), this section is rambling and unfocused, with vague references and assumptions ("Morse thought", "Some believe", "Critics believed") and mentions of names like Jedediah Morse coming out of nowhere. It's an off-putting read. I suggest we move all the philosophical and political details to their own section except as brief descriptions (a line or two) of his painting work. Please change to "Charlestown, Massachusetts" from the infobox, because it wasn't part of Boston until 1874. 45.162.78.222 (talk) 23:11, 29 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 16:27, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
