GA Reassessment
edit- This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Santamaría (volcano)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.
In order to uphold the quality of Wikipedia:Good articles, all articles listed as Good articles are being reviewed against the GA criteria as part of the GA project quality task force. While all the hard work that has gone into this article is appreciated, unfortunately, as of October 12, 2008, this article fails to satisfy the criteria, as detailed below. For that reason, the article has been delisted from WP:GA. However, if improvements are made bringing the article up to standards, the article may be nominated at WP:GAN. If you feel this decision has been made in error, you may seek remediation at WP:GAR.
- With only a single inline citation in the entire article – which I added by converting it from an inline external link – this fails 2b of the WP:WIAGA criteria.
- "... a subsequent outbreak of malaria killed many more.she is one of the top five largest volcano." Apart from being ungrammatical, top five largest volcano where? In Guatemala? In South America? The world? Why is the volcano uniquely referred to as "she" in this sentence?
- The article calls the volcano Santa María, yet the article's title is Santamaría.
Rename page
editThis page should be renamed to "Santa María (volcano)", as previously noted by other users. Any objections? Simon Burchell (talk) 23:46, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Thought not. Page duly moved. Simon Burchell (talk) 20:12, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

editSmall eruption today
edita time stamped photo was posted on a blog but I guess that's not a good source, unfortunately my spanish is not good enough to read the bulletin on INSIVUMEH EdwardLane (talk) 08:24, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- Santiaguito is constantly erupting - it is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. I think the INSIVUMEH observatory just snapped a nice pic and posted it, I checked out their website and it looks like they just post the latest pics of eruptions. There's certainly nothing unusual going on that requires an article update. All the best, Simon Burchell (talk) 08:36, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- ah that makes sense - thanks EdwardLane (talk) 10:29, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
