For God sake ,what have done with story of sassi Panh,i am changing it,i have much better source they any one ,read Sur Sassi Panhu by Shah Abdul Latif.it is lengedry story so please be carefull with it.

Hashim Shah (1735-1843) was a Punjabi writer and Sufi poet, best known for his story Sassi Punnun (or Sassi Pannu). In hashim's sassi the young child sassi is thrown into the chenab, Sassi is as much a part of Punjabi literary tradition as 'Sohni Mahiwal'(despite being not Sindhi) is part of Sindhi literary tradition. Sassi punnu is strictly a literary topic not political or historical. This article should be renamed to 'Sassi Punnu' to reflect WP:COMMONNAME, please see the Google Books Ngram viewer graphs here. The spellings of "Sassi Punnu" and "Sassi Pannu" is the only one that gets any hits at all. The spellings of "Sassui Punnhun" , "Sassi Panhun", or "Sassi Panhu" and other seeming variations gets no hits at all. Hello, @ThethPunjabi. Respectfully that would be a butchering of the name. Especially of Punnhu. It's not "Pannu". I would argue that Pannu is not popular. Even in the Punjabi version of Hashim Shah (translated by Christopher Shackle) the name is "Punnun" not Pannu. The current title reflects the original spelling in both Sindhi & Baloch literature. Sassui (سَسُئِي) is the original name in the texts. Which you can also verify in the old texts. In the most popular version, Sassui is the name in 4 separate chapters. It is in use which you can see here. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Even a publication by the Culture department of the Sindh Government writes it as "Sassui Punhun" for which I can provide more than enough references if you want. Noteworthy poets like Sachal Sarmast too write it as that. So it is best to stick to the original title of the article. I hope you understand. Sir Calculus (talk) 10:12, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

@Sir Calculus "Sassi Punnu" is by far the WP:COMMONNAME if you look at the Google Books data. These other spelling variations do not get any hits at all. It is evident that the name needs to be changed to reflect this reality. Is there any data to support the argument to prove those spellings are more popular and common than "Sassi Punnu" or "Sassi Pannu"? ThethPunjabi (talk) 19:41, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

@ThethPunjabi WP:COMMONNAME Doesn't keep us limited to Google Books. You wouldn't find many Balochi or Sindhi authored books there either. I can give government publication references where it says Sassui/Sasui Punnhu/Punnu instead of Sassi Pannu if that is required. I am okay with providing with more than enough English language references where it supports that. Also, it's a sensitive topic. Let's keep the title as it originally is. Let's stick to the books. Both Baloch & Sindhi versions have Sasui. Changing it differently may drift us away from WP:NPOVTITLE a little bit. Sir Calculus (talk) 20:37, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

• Support: Of course, Google Ngrams is just a sample of books. And there are books using other spellings. But it does seem to be the more common spelling, looking at a Google Books search. And even looking instead at a simple Google search, I get 48,200 results for "sassi punnu" -wikipedia and 2,780 for "sassui punnhun" -wikipedia. SilverLocust 💬 04:32, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

  @SilverLocust Google books is quite limited when it comes to Sindhi & Balochi literature. That's why I added refs for books which are not available on Google books, government publications especially. I can send more refs if you want. You will naturally find more "Sassi Punnu" because of the population of the Punjabi ethnic group in Pakistan estimated at about 108,586,959, they use Sassi Pannu. The literature in question here originates in the Sindhi & Balochi regions, and is based in those regions. And in the native versions, the names are exactly as the ones in the current article. So it's best to stick to the current version of the article. Anyways, I got about 159,000 results when I typed in "Sassui Punnu", 130,000 when I typed "Sassi Punnu" and 2,990 when I typed "Sassui Punnhun". But no matter what variation I search.
