Middle name Sean
editEdits have removed the middle name Sean from parts of the article on the grounds it is not on his birth certificate, but it is mentioned under "Early life". It appears he did acquire the middle name Sean even if it wasn't on the birth certificate. Jack Upland (talk) 00:48, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
Exactly. This has been restored. His birth name was given as just 'Thomas Connery' but it is clearly sourced that his full name included (originally, or later) 'Sean'. Gaelicbow (talk) 16:34, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- Later, not originally (see his birth record) 2A02:8440:510E:4B6:8157:545E:6C42:145A (talk) 03:07, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- I have removed from the lead the trivial fact that his birth certificate did not include his middle name Sean, which he CLEARLY had as his middle name. For those who are so interested or feel the need to register such a trivial fact (that his birth certificate only lists the name Thomas) you can see such in the infobox and further information can be viewed in early life body. I don't see how an user-uploaded image of his apparent birth certificate can be taken as a concrete piece of evidence anyway, given that the uploader can easily alter an image like that. Gaelicbow (talk) 18:03, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- To hinder the flow of the prose in the lead is problematic. Furthermore, the way it was formerly written suggests he got the name Sean out of nowhere and that his real name is Thomas: this obviously is not the case as the early life body explains. Gaelicbow (talk) 18:05, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure "CLEARLY" is justified. That story was unsourced when added to the article - the source it has acquired is an Irish Post article put together while the story appeared in Wikipedia. I strongly suspect that all we have is a circular citation. Ian Dalziel (talk) 21:17, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

First paragraph - Non-EON Bond film
editHi - I think there should be an edit to the first paragraph where it says: "Never Say Never Again (1983), the first non-Eon-produced Bond film." This isn't correct because the first non-EON Bond film is Casino Royale from 1967. And, if Casino Royale doesn't count, then Never Say Never Again would be the only non-EON Bond film. Something like "a non-EON-produced Bond film" would be more accurate. 2603:8000:D402:FFA:9BC7:EFDC:CCC3:F7F2 (talk) 16:42, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

Introduction - awards
editI have just edited the intro to specify the films he won his Oscar, BAFTA, and Golden Globe for. This also removes redundancy from that paragraph, as it formerly stated he received three Golden Globes, then in the next sentence lists some of his honorary awards - including the Cecil B. DeMille Award, one of the three Golden Globes. In doing this I additionally noticed that the "Awards and honors" section has the table of his acting awards, including the BAFTA Fellowship, then below that is the Honors list which included the BAFTA Fellowship, now also removed.
