Deleted "other spouses" section
editAlthough I previously posted some suggestions for reformatting this section (to which nobody responded), on second thought I decided that I don't think it belongs in the article at all. The article is about people who served in the role of Second Lady (or Gentleman) while married to Vice Presidents of the United States. It doesn't need to discuss other people who were married to people who at a different time in their life served as VPOTUS. DavidK93 (talk) 04:45, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
Article name change?
editsince there is and has only ever been one "second gentleman", should the name of the article be "Second ladies and Gentleman..."? Bdhzuzuuzyy (talk) 19:20, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Any opinions? why no action? Bdhzuzuuzyy (talk) 20:31, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- A lack of expressed opinion or action often means people prefer to leave it as is. Why change it, only to have to change it again when gentlemen plural have held the role? Regarding naming conventions, WP:PLURAL says "List articles use a plural after 'List of' ", which applies directly to a section of this article, and I believe should be used in the overall title as well. —ADavidB 14:47, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Adavidb you are assuming you can read the future, which is clearly not the case Bdhzuzuuzyy (talk) 00:00, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- Just a high eventual likelihood, provided the US continues to have VPs with spouses, but the other sentences were the main points of my response. —ADavidB 01:34, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Adavidb as if having to revert it is such a huge burden for the wiki community to undertake...I think being accurate in the present moment is more important Bdhzuzuuzyy (talk) 01:41, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- Again, I wrote more than the "Why" sentence. Wikipedia guidance is to use plural for list names, even if/when there's only one item thus far. References and Notes headings are the same way. —ADavidB 02:03, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
