Sevan, Armenia → Sevan (town) – WP:PRECISE Երևանցի talk 13:14, 18 February 2016 (UTC) --Relisted. — Amakuru (talk) 11:33, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

- Oppose - I see no reason to remove "Armenia". The current title is more descriptive. Meatsgains (talk) 02:08, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- The reason why Armenia is redundant in the title is that there is no other settlement in the world called Sevan. While "Sevan, Armenia" might refer to the lake. --Երևանցի talk 04:05, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Support--ԱշոտՏՆՂ (talk) 10:33, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Support since the current title is ambiguous and can refer to both the town and the lake. sst✈(conjugate) 16:38, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Support to disambiguate it form the better known lake and the other Sevan PTMs in Armenia. — AjaxSmack 01:34, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- Relisting comment - I initially closed this request at moved on 27 February, but there has since been some dispute, currently discussed at WT:DAB#Invalid name change, over whether Sevan, Armenia should be retargeted, with two users there also expressing opposition to the move request here. As such, I feel it's best to move it back to the original title for now, give it another week, and then allow a proper consensus to be assessed on the fate of both this article and the redirect Sevan, Armenia. — Amakuru (talk) 11:33, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose: there is nothing to suggest that the lake is known as "Sevan" rather than "Lake Sevan". The town could be at "Sevan" if it was the Primary Topic but the dab page and this discussion suggest that this is not the case. So "Sevan, Armenia" is a standard way to disambiguate the town from Sevan, Iran or the other uses. We don't use "(town)" as a disambiguator except in very specific cases like Windermere, Cumbria (town) which needs to be distinguished both from other towns elsewhere and from the lake which has exactly the same name, is in the same county, and is the primary topic: Windermere. - Oppose per Pam's excellent argumentation. --Francis Schonken (talk) 13:35, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per Pam D and WP:NCCS: "Where there is no Wikipedia convention on a specific country and disambiguation is necessary, it is generally reasonable to use placename, nation, as in Shire, Ethiopia." Dohn joe (talk) 14:44, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per PamD. --Midas02 (talk) 18:06, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, per the above. There is no natural ambiguity to this term. bd2412 T 20:36, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, per the above. Present title is clearer. Pincrete (talk) 18:36, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
