Shane Lowry (golfer) → Shane Lowry – The golfer is the primary topic. Page views. Schierbecker (talk) 07:02, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

The article Shane Lowry (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Now that the golfer is asserted as the primary topic, this disambiguation page is not required.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 19:30, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
If someone who has taken a photo of Shane Lowry would like to "donate" it

- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång The PGA has a video uploaded with a creative commons tag on their YT account. Lowry is featured at 0:12 and at 0:42. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jRvAtCb-B3M
- I'm not sure how this works, could it simply be taken as a screenshot and posted here? It would be a significant improvement to the current offering.
- Tommy Fleetwood and some other golfers are also featured in that video. NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 21:14, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- @NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM Good find! Yes, screenshots can be uploaded at WP:FUW, "Upload your own or a freely licensed file". The license in this case is ATTRIBUTION 3.0 UNPORTED. I'm guessing this PGA is not the same as Professional Golfers' Association of America? I could do it, but unlike you, I don't recognize these people. Also, it's helpful for a Wikipedian to know something about how Commons works. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 21:49, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång Thanks! That is the account of the Professional Golfers' Association (Great Britain and Ireland), an older but smaller outfit than the PGA of America. There are 11 pro golfers in that video, to my eye anyway
- "That first swing of a club" is Robert MacIntyre
- "That first strike" is Tyrrell Hatton
- "That first tournament" is Tommy Fleetwood
- "That first made cut" is Danny Willett
- "That first win" is Shane Lowry
- "That first Ryder cup" is Luke Donald
- "That first major" is Matt Fitzpatrick
- "All these accomplishments" is Andy Sullivan
- "Lessons we all still take" is Eddie Pepperell
- "Our PGA professional coaches" is Matthew Jordan
- "With their expertise" is Ewen Ferguson NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 22:35, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Then some of these would be obvious improvements as leadimage, and some might be good as a "in 2023" addition somewhere below. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:42, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- @NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM, I've done 3:

- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång I attempted to upload a slightly crisper image, but it was a png file so had to upload separately. Using commons is like navigating a labyrinth, for me at least. I'm not sure if there's much of a difference between the two regardless. What's your opinion?
- NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 20:07, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- I think they're about equal. The png looks a little more like he's just about to say something. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:02, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
