The result of the move request was: Moved to Shin Jung Hyun & Yup Juns — Amakuru (talk) 09:13, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
Shin Jung-hyeon and YeopJeons → ? – As you might expect for a 1970s South Korean band, English-language sources are a bit scarce, making it hard to judge the WP:COMMONNAME. In a Google Image Search on the band name in Korean ("신중현과 엽전들"), I see some of their album covers using Shin Jung Hyun & Yup Juns, and others using Shin Joong Hyun & Yup Juns. More comments below. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 15:08, 11 September 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. DrStrauss talk 09:09, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment The "Joong" spelling is more common on the Internet, but I'm not sure if that's just WP:RECENTISM (basically none of the English hits for either spelling are independent reliable secondary sources, they're all retailers, and I think most of the album covers using "Joong" are CD re-releases while the ones with "Jung" are the original vinyl). The actual Mr. Shin seems to have changed his preferred English spelling multiple times over the decades, and the spelling used for his article, Shin Jung-hyeon, definitely isn't the WP:COMMONNAME for the band. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 15:08, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Go with original vinyl Shin Jung Hyun & Yup Juns, it may look retro now, but then it was the 1970s. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:39, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose: Move to Shin Jung-hyeon and Yeopjeon or Shin Jung-hyeon and Yeopjeondeul per base pages Shin Jung-hyeon and Yeopjeon, WP:CONSISTENCY. There are very few English sources for this band. Articles derived should follow the base page. And, what is YeopJeons? Juns? 59.149.124.29 (talk) should open WP:RM discussion at Talk:Shin Jung-hyeon about Jung-hyeon, Jung Hyun, or Joong Hyun. Sawol (talk) 03:49, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
- No, the article Shin Jung-hyeon is at the proper place, because that's become the most common name since the 1970s. But even when a spelling changes over time, WP:CONSISTENT does not mean that we retroactively change proper nouns which use the earlier spelling: Incheon but USS Inchon; Mao Zedong but Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung, etc. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 10:45, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
- Move to Shin Junghyun and Yupjuns; #1 and as per WP:NCKO. --Garam (talk) 16:17, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
- The source you cite shows a space in "Jung Hyun" and "Yup Juns", and uses "&" instead of "and". 59.149.124.29 (talk) 10:45, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
- Move to Shin Jung Hyun & Yup Juns as apparently the most common on album covers. There's good choice here, as there's no consistent way this name has been written in English.--Cúchullain t/c 14:55, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
