This KRT factoid article may need separate sourcing but claims the first sneaker was the 1867 "croquet shoe" made by the Candee Rubber Co. of Norwich, Connecticut, USA. — LlywelynII 16:14, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. – dudhhr talkcontribssheher 17:48, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

There need to be more specifications about grenhouse gaz emissions by the shoes manufacturing industry, it is close to 14 kg of CO2 footprint by a pair of shoe. 194.153.110.5 (talk) 15:06, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Misinformation

edit

"In Latvia any sneakers are still called botas after the Czech footwear company Botas, whose produce was one of the few foreign brands of sneakers available during the Soviet occupation." As a Latvian, I can surely say that this sentence is inacurate. This is just funny, because nobody says like that not now not in the past. Botas (latv. botes) are called so rather because of the russian word boots (рус. боты) corresponding to any type of heavy or warm winter boots. 87.110.58.117 (talk) 17:15, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
