Outline section relating to how Watt joins
editThe statement that " There is also a vacancy for a deputy head of CID and Watt as runner up is appointed gaining the rank of detective superintendent" Having not seen the now lost last episodes of Softly, Softly (TV series) dealing with Barlow's departure. I am not sure if this is how it was presented in those episodes, but this does not seem to me to fit with the first two episodes of Softly Softly Taskforce. Watt is not mentioned in the first episode the conclusion of which is when Barlow recommends, and Cullen agrees, the setting up of taskforces. In the next episode Barlow presents Cullen with his plans and while they agree on No 2 Taskforce being commanded by a serving Thamesford detective superintendent, Cullen rejects Barlow's recommendation of another Thamesford CID superintendent, who Barlow states he beat for the job. Barlow had assumed Cullen wanted to placate this officer, but it emerges he is leaving and both men are glad. Barlow however assumes promotion will have to come from within as there is no vacancy, but Cullen says he wants to bring in Watt. There is also no explicit mention of Watt being overall deputy of CID at this point. Dunarc (talk) 20:51, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
Others section - CI/D Sup. Bill Adler
editI wonder if the character of John Franklyn-Robbins Chief Inspector (later Detective Superintendent Bill Adler should not be in the main cast section rather than the others. Although he was only in 9 episodes, only in the first of these was he minor character and for the last few episodes of the 4th series he was the head of the titular Taskforce after Watt had succeeded Barlow has head of CID. He features prominently in the opening titles of these episodes and indeed the second last episode of that series focuses on him and an attempt to frame him for corruption. Removal from others section of cast
editI have removed "Terrorist" played by Jean Gilpin from this list as it seems she only appeared in one episode, hence could not be considered a notable cast member. I would note that the same actress had been added to the recurring cast section of the Z-Cars article based on one appearance and so I had removed her from there as well. (see Talk:Z-Cars for further details). Dunarc (talk) 22:49, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
