South (British band) → South (band) – This article was originally created at South (band) but moved in 2006 by an ediotor claiming there was an American band called South, however no such article has ever been created in seven years. I see no reason for this article name to be so specific. --Relisted. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 10:34, 4 March 2014 (UTC) --Tbone556 (talk) 23:01, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose the disambiguation page South (disambiguation) clearly lists a band called "The South", which we have an article which covers it. -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:03, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- That's a band called The South, not South. A completely irrelevant point. Thanks for your input. Tbone556 (talk) 00:13, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- "The" is kept or dropped at whim, therefore anything missing "The" is automatically ambiguous with anything that has "The". -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 04:15, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

- Oppose - I don't know whether the 2006 editor was refering to The South, to Lonnie Mack's South or Fred Burch's South but can't see any urgency to remove "British" from the title of this article. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:09, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Comment There was an article for an American band until late 2012. That group released an album on Jagjaguwar Records and might arguably be notable, although noise from other bands, including this one, makes Googling album reviews hard. Just so it's clear that the claim of no article for an American band is in error... Chubbles (talk) 19:06, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- "South (British band)" could also refer to The South - would a hatnote template be enough? Peter James (talk) 20:20, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Comment. A definite article can be applied to any band, including, so the presence or lack of it does not disambiguate. However, both the bands are British. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:59, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support. "British" adds nothing, and merely confuses the issue since the other band is also British (it is actually discussed at the title The Beautiful South). Use hat notes to get readers where they want to go.--Cúchullain t/c 16:12, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
- Support. Seven years is enough time to wait for articles with other meanings to surface. It's now obvious that the British band is the primary topic. JIP | Talk 06:10, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
