Map

edit

@Di (they-them): Your latest revert removed the map and its caption on the basis of it being speculative. This would make sense if the caption claimed that the map presents the borders of the country, which it originally did, however, in the newer revision, it explicitly stated that the map points to the location of the World Headquarters of the Bektashi, which we know will be the core of the country, and which we know the location and boundaries of. So why was it removed? — IмSтevan talk 12:24, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@ImStevan: It's misleading to include the map in the infobox of a country if it does not actually represent the country. It's simply best to wait until we have actual information about the country itself. Di (they-them) (talk) 12:25, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Actually, it is planned to only include the headquarters so it makes sense to include the map, or at least a geolocation that points to what would be the center of it. 2600:8802:3A0E:4300:60CB:1D2D:B7CC:B7D6 (talk) 22:18, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
We should wait until it is confirmed. No need to do original research. Di (they-them) (talk) 22:58, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Di (they-them): BBC reports that the country will stretch on 27 acres of the World Headquarters of the Bektashi, which is in line with other sourced material in the article that has been deemed relevant (regarding size)[1]IмSтevan talk 12:36, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
OK, but there's no need to rush and add a map before we know what the borders are. It's foolish to do original research at this stage when we can just wait to get actual confirmation. Di (they-them) (talk) 13:25, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Is it original research to connect "the country is set to be 27 hectares" (already in the article), "the world hq is 27 hectares", "the country will be the world hq" and "these are the world hq borders"? It's not even breaking WP:SYNTH, I don't think it's rushing, it just makes things clearer to readers — IмSтevan talk 15:19, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that is OR and SYNTH. Di (they-them) (talk) 16:27, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's absolutely not, as those things are all connected to eachother within the cited reference — IмSтevan talk 20:01, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
You could create a pinpoint map showing the location of the World Headquarters, showing the border without definitive proof is OR. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 04:09, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The article provided by ImStevan reads ‘"Our goal is to turn the Bektashi World Center into a sovereign state - a new center of moderation, tolerance and peaceful coexistence," Rama said before the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York.‘ I really don’t know how including a map of said Bektashi World Center could be considered original research or synth. Brainiac242 (talk) 20:15, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The part I was referring to reads: "If it were to be founded, the new country would stretch on 27 hectares of the today's World Headquarters of the Bektashi, which has been located in the eastern part of the Albanian capital since 1930." — IмSтevan talk 20:30, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
If we are to include a map, which I disagree with, we need to have a reliable source for showing the borders of the headquarters. The image previously used had no sources and I don't know where the borders came from. Di (they-them) (talk) 20:38, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Commons already have an OpenStreetMap map — IмSтevan talk 09:00, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Naming conventions

edit

What exactly would be the shorthand version of this countries name? Going off of the two other religious state entity examples, the Vatican and the Maltese Knights, what would be a good shortened way to have this country? Jacob XII (talk) 13:18, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bektashistan, perhaps? Mtminchi08 (talk) 13:45, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I would presume just "the Bektashi State". Di (they-them) (talk) 14:18, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's just an interesting thought expirement, given the Vatican City full name is in a similar vain to the Bektashi name currently, but would it take on the name of the neighbourhood of Tirana that in which it resides? Jacob XII (talk) 21:14, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Dzheykobb: "Bektashia" seems to me as a likely name contender, after all, Albanian also uses the latin suffix "-ia" at the end of many countries' names — IмSтevan talk 12:32, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
