editWhile Carabidae of the World lists "Sphaerodes Bates, 1886", Bousquet's Catalogue of Geadephaga (Coleoptera: Adephaga) of America, north of Mexico and Hallan's Carabidae list list "Sphoerodes Chaudoir in Oberthür, 1883" as a senior homonym and "Sphaerodes" as a subsequent misspelling.
