Cleanup
editFollowing the manual of style for disambiguation pages I removed a number of entries because they were
- Dictionary definitions already in wiktionary
- Slang terms that directed to topical articles in which the slang term was not mentioned (it is unlikely that someone looking for computer programming would start by typing Spike, for example)
- Some people with the first name Spike. Again, unlikely that someone looking for Michele Spike the social activist would start by typing Spike. (However, Spike Jones, Spike Lee, and the fictional Spikes are more reasonable in this regard).
Computer spiking
editIn Goldeneye, Boris "spiked" the US through computer. What in that context does "Spike" mean? --69.67.230.226 22:48, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Spiking in video games?
editWhat do players mean when they spike damage in MMORPGs? I've also heard it used in Super Smash Bros Melee. 209.91.61.251 16:33, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Anglo-Catholic Spike
editPlease help me understand the style guideline, so that I may do better in the future.
The text below was removed. Based on another note on this talk page, it appears that I should not have linked the text "Father Tooth" to the article on Fr. Arthur Tooth. Is that the issue that caused the undo? I guess I thought that we were supposed to link most words in our entries to the articles discussing them. For example, if someone looked up "spike" to see what the Wikipedia said about it, it seems useful that the entry actually points to an article about a "spike". Is there anything else that should be changed?
Spike, An Anglican who advocates or practises Anglo-Catholic ritual and observances. (OED citation: "There were several other effigies of famous spikes, including the legendary Father Tooth.") talk 06:38, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
