Spiggan

edit

From the current first paragraph of the article:

"Spriggan (スプリガン Supurigan?) is a manga series written by Hiroshi Takashige and illustrated by Ryōji Minagawa during the early 1990s. It was initially released as Striker in the North American English translation, as it is the English translation of the word Spriggan from Celtic."

"Striker" is NOT English for "Spriggan". A Spriggan is a woodland fairy creature in Celtic lore, most notable for its appearance modern pop culture in the Elder Scrolls Games, such as Morrowind: Bloodmoon, Oblivion and Skyrim. The English word for Spriggan is in fact, Spriggan. The root work for the English word "Striker" is "strike", as in to hit someone (or to strike out in baseball).

The page should be modified to say that this was a mistranslation. 173.209.103.159 (talk) 15:47, 31 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
