St Mary's School, Ascot → St. Mary's School Ascot – The school's official legally entity name does not have an apostrophe after school and before Ascot. (Correction regarding requiring a full stop also.) Note correct here https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/school/110120/st-mary's-school-ascot Stmarysascot (talk) 15:00, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Comment - neither the linked web site or the school's web site has a full stop after the St in the name . Keith D (talk) 18:46, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Support St Mary's School Ascot per Keith D, this even if the school is still just "St Mary's School" this avoids the need to disambiguate it per WP:NATURAL. A quick look at the Google results such as Google Maps shows that it is indeed "St Mary's School Ascot" not "St Mary's School". Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:30, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Support St Mary's School Ascot or retain as is. Although I loathe the modern tendency to remove the comma like this, it does seem to be increasingly common. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:27, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- And the use of the full stop after "St" is purely a stylistic choice. Our house style is not to use it for British articles, as it is not commonly used any longer in British writing. And as stated above, the school does not use it even on its own website, so it can hardly even claim common usage. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:46, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
