Reliable sourcing

edit

There is a concern that IMDb is not a reliable source of information for living subjects, as it is a "user contributed" environment similar to Wikipedia. This article has been tagged as unsourced for 4 months now (since February 2007), is there anything better available we can use? Burntsauce 23:38, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes. If you would unblank the page, then citations could be added. WWE.com has archives of results, and so does Online World of Wrestling. Nikki311 23:41, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well Miss Kitty's OWOW profile had been deleted upon her request, to distance herself from professional wrestling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Haleth (talkcontribs) 07:54, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not true, her profile is still on owow, i just looked at itAladdin Zane 08:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Her Online World of Wrestling profile was deleted and is now empty, not the Online Women of Wrestling one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RiverKK (talkcontribs) 17:21, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Her profile is still there. scroll to the bottom of her page and click it. I just looked at it. When the pop-up comes up first you have to click close. Just provide a valid citation if you think you are right, BTW, RiverKK is now a suspected sock puppet of HalethAladdin Zane 17:26, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Third opinion: add it in when you have a reliable source. Provide a link to where it says that, and you can prove your side. Until then, just let it be. Furthermore, sockpuppets hurt your case and credibility. Aladdin Zane, you may want to report that here: Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets. Nikki311 17:38, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thats not all he's done, he also called me several vulgar names on my talk page, along with the fact he created the sock puppet right after he violated the 3RR and I warned him about it on his userpage. He didn't use the sock puppet YET to revert anything, he just used it to try and make a comment as if he was a seperate userAladdin Zane 17:43, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
but that's all i told him too, if it's true provide a valid citation for it.Aladdin Zane 17:44, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Just for fun I looked up her Online World of Wrestling profile for myself (Follow the link). It does say it was removed by request, so if Haleth wants to, he/she can put it back in. Nikki311 17:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree he can put it what it states only. It doesn't say she requested it. Unless we know what was on that page, we don't know why it was requested. Also because it was requested on one sight does not mean it was requested on all. If it states something like "Recently her Online World of Wrestling profile was removed upon request" thats ok, but not if it says "by her request" because that is speculative. It would also be speculative to assume it was requested on all sites. Also not owow profile because owow.com is online women of wrestling. Also there is still tons of information about her on the site Online World of wrestling, So unless there is proof She requested it, it needs to be listed as such. Because any number of people could have requested it, for any number of reasons.Aladdin Zane 18:08, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
That seems like a good compromise to me. Nikki311 18:44, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I put it in, tell me what you think.Aladdin Zane 18:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Nikki311 Haleth showed up this morning finally using a sock puppet. He used the IP address 220.236.87.126 that changed the info on what we discussed, Case has been reported now that he is officialy a sock puppet.Aladdin Zane 14:02, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Funny how someone who accused me of suckpuppetry is himself accused and proven to have multiple sockpuppet accounts for a while now, and accused me using vulgar abuse against him when he actually did that to ME, which I removed to avoid further confrontation. Can you take some lowlife like him seriously, Nikki? Haleth (talk) 05:15, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unprotect

edit

If this new version of the page could be added back in, that would be great. Thanks. Nikki311 05:16, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can someone please unprotect this page? I think this is a good start. Burntsauce 16:30, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I transfered this version in and am unprotecting the page now. --Myles Long 17:18, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

GA Review

edit
This review is transcluded from Talk:Stacy Carter/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.
Lead
  • Is there a source for DOB?
World Wrestling Federation (1999-2001)
  • She lost the Championship on the January 31 edition of Raw to Harvey "Hervina" Wippleman in a 'Lumberjill Snowbunny match'. - is there a link to this type of match or an elaboration that can be given.
Other
  • Is there any follow to her current state of today? Any news, because this article is outdated.
  • There are no images of the subject.
  • I also feel that her personal life section is too small. More than half of the article is about her "career," there has to be some more information on her personal life no?
    • I found a page in Lawler's book that I had previously overlooked. It had quite a bit about her personal life, so I was able to add quite a bit of info in. Nikki311 23:31, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Is there a source for her finishing moves?
  • Why is the section called "championships and accomplishments" and not just "championships" if that is the only thing she won?
  • The Kat then appeared at the Royal Rumble in the 'Miss Royal Rumble Swimsuit Contest', where she appeared in a bikini made out of Bubble Wrap. - does Bubble Wrap really have to be capitalized?

Although a short article, it is relatively written "good," though there is a couple of prose and other types of issues that need to be addressed before making a final decision in this GAN. Article   On hold--SRX 21:27, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Great work. But for the finishing moves, what source was trying to be used to source the finishing moves?SRX 03:14, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
There isn't one at all. A fly-by editor added those in awhile ago, and I never got around to deleting them until now. Also, I'm still looking for a source for her DOB. It is listed all over the net as September 29, 1971, but I have yet to find a reliable source for it. However, in Lawler's book, he says they met on July 1989 ("two months before she turned 19"), so simple subtraction tells you that she was born in September 1971. I'm going to do some more searching for the exact date, but if I can't find it, I'm going to change her birthday to September 1971 and cite Lawler's book. Nikki311 17:54, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok take your time. Notify me when you make up your mind about the DOB. For the finishing moves, is there a results page that says how she won a match, as that could be used to source the finishing move w/ a quote.SRX 20:28, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
She didn't really have "wrestling matches"...usually just stripping matches. I've added stinkface for now, because she did perform that, especially during the match with Runnels. I'll see what I can find, though. I've got a lot going on right now, so it might take a day or two for me to finish everything, but it'll be done before seven days. Also, I trust your judgment, so no second opinion is needed. Nikki311 21:09, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
That works. Take your time. Also, thank you for trusting my judgment :)--SRX 23:13, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Alright. I think I'm done. I searched all the reliable sources I know of that include results (SLAM, WrestleView, etc. etc.) but couldn't find any sources for any other signature moves. I also couldn't find a reliable source for her birthdate, so I used just the month and year (as previously mentioned). Is there anything else you can might want me to fix, expand, or explain? Nikki311 00:24, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Great job. That is fine with what you attempted to do. When more info is available, you should attempt to add it. Also, when an image is available it should be added. This GAN is a   Pass.--SRX 02:10, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nude at other Pay-Per-Views

edit

I think this line "After the event, she was shown nude several more times on other pay-per-views." needs a source, because the only one that I've seen in her WWF/E career is Armageddon 1999. If it's at non-WWF/E events then that should be mentioned. (Loosie (talk) 15:22, 31 July 2008 (UTC))Reply

Did you read the rest of the article? She was also nude at Insurrection, partially nude at the Royal Rumble (bubble wrap is see-through), and all-though the article doesn't mention it, she was also nude (in a segment, not in a match) at WrestleMania. Nikki311 16:19, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
My apologies I did miss the Insurrextion bit in the article. I find I tend to be somewhat ignorant to the UK-only events as I haven't seen them. (Loosie (talk) 16:42, 31 July 2008 (UTC))Reply
If my memory serves (haven't watched it since) she had an arm wrestling match with Terri and after losing Terri tried to pull at the strap of her top to embarass her. Showing she couldn't be embarassed Kat then turned round (so the camera could only see her back) and flashed the crowd. Tony2Times (talk) 15:12, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Stacy Carter

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Stacy Carter's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I've made some basic edits to reflect the new name, but the article could do with being tidied up by someone familiar with the subject, to check the right name is being used in the right places. McPhail?
