WHat the hell?? why is there no info on this —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.167.129.229 (talkcontribs)

It's difficult to find verifiable sources that set out to do anything other than sell the shoe. Such sources I've seen state that the shoe was originally dedicated to Robert Haillet, and they have since gone on to sell over 30 million pairs. That would make it highly notable info.  slυмgυм [ ←→ ] 20:20, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I'm cool if you want to have links like U.S. repeated seventy times or so since there is an exception to the overlinking guideline for tables. I do think that the bare year links (e.g. 1971) don't provide any context at all. I think a better idea would be to link to either "<year> in sports" or "Category:<year> in tennis" with a pipe link to make just the year appear (e.g. 1971 or 1971). Cheers! —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 09:35, 3 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Intro redundant sentence

edit

The intro states: "Smith also formed with his partner Bob Lutz one of the most successful doubles teams of all time. Together, they won many major titles all over the world". The second sentence is both self evident if the first is correct and adds nothing specific; accordingly it should be removed. There is no reference to the most successful claim and the highlighted word 'doubles' takes one to a Wikipedia article about type status of tennis match, not about why they were the most successful. A link or reference to 'Grand Slam related tennis records' may be relevant - in that it has Smith and Lutz listed as the 10= (with 8 others) for winning the most GS men's doubles tournaments (5).
