Staring at animals

edit

If possible, someone could add a paragraph that staring at a dog can be an ill-advised idea, as many dogs consider it the biggest threat to them, and will often bear fangs and bite the person staring at them. Stopde (talk) 20:22, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

staring versus fixating

edit

Staring seems to be defined here as synonymous to fixating; in my opinion this is a serious flaw of the text. Staring is holding one's gaze direction and accommodation for a prolonged period of time. Staring as such, without the fixating quality, gives rise to a particular kind of attention that gradually diminishes awareness of one's physical body (escaping into the individuality of one's mind). Contrastingly, fixating is a social event. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.167.3.40 (talk) 09:46, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
