Foreign airlines

edit

Have corrected the following inaccuracies in the "Foreign airlines" section:

1. Former UK Independent carrier Dan-Air Services (operating as Dan-Air London for most of its existence) did not go bankrupt in 1990. It was taken over by British Airways in 1992.

It had liquidity problems, and yes, was taken over by British Airways in 1992.

2. British Airways Heathrow-Stavanger route was switched to Gatwick during the early 1990s, before the airline decided to pull of the route during the middle of that decade.

In 1997, yes, due to the fact that a an affiliate partnership with Norwegian Braathens failed breaking of the ties between British Airways and Braathens, as Braathens sold 30% of their ownership of their airline to KLM. In the years following up to the closure of their partnership, British Airways had merged their airport facilities representing them in the City of Stavanger and also at the airport. Braathens was responsible for the ground handling for the British Airways flights.

From operating one flight with a Boeing 737-436, the flight continuing from London Heathrow to Paris, Charled de Gaulle, without transfer passengers having to disembark. Efficiently taking over a lot of passengers previously flying Air France, before Air France pulled out.

In 1994 British Airways started more direct flights between Stavanger and London. Consisting of a morning flight in from London, Heathrow, arriving a round 11 o´clock, the Boeing 757 aircraft after being handled, receiving remote parking the hour just prior to 16 hours CET (4 pm), when it would be repositioned and used for the return flight at 17-hours CET (5 pm). Twice a day services flown by 737-236 London, Gatwick - Stavanger where also added.

The loss of their sales representatives being incorporated into Braathens and Braathens extensive cooperation with KLM, KLM pursuit their goal of their investment in Braathens, efficiently feeding all their international passengers in towards their KLM Amsterdam Schipol hub, and there just being one alternative ground handling company at Stavanger International, the other one being SAS Scandinavian Airlines System part of the Star Alliance network, and both efficiently closing British Airways out of Stavanger Airport, due to them offering only excessive ground handling and representation fees, marginalized takings, British Airwayws, subsequently making the decision to withdraw operating on Stavanger Airport.

3. KLMuk was not acquired by Irish no frills operator Ryanair. It was integrated with KLM CityHopper. Only buzz, KLMuk's short-lived no frills offshoot, was sold to Ryanair.

I´ve certainly not written any such, must be another editor. Of course KLM UK was integrated into KLMs operations.

Please inform yourself of the facts before you start writing/editing articles.

I am informed sir/madame. ;) Hope your are too :)
