Sultan Sumagka → Talitay – Republic Act No. 11550 was signed on May 27, 2021. The law stated the creation of Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur, recognized the name of the municipality as Talitay, not as Sultan Sumagka[1] and ceded the municipality to Maguindanao del Norte. The law had won via plebiscite on September 18, 2022[2]. There is no reliable source to prove a successful plebiscite of Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act No. 228 happened. Furthermore, no records found from the Commission on Elections that a plebiscite of Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act No. 228 exist.

- Support Likely as per WP:COMMONAME as well. The Philippine Statistics Authority and the Commission on Elections (through their List of Candidates for the 2022 elections) recognizes Talitay as the name of the town. The Facebook page for the town (see live photos such as reference of the town name in government tarpaulins) also uses Talitay.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 14:10, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

- MindaNews (2016), the Philippine News Agency (2018)], RMN (2017), ABS-CBN (2018), PCIJ (2010) all uses "Talitay".

- Support. I contacted PSA back in 2019 and they confirmed with COMELEC that the renaming plebiscite was never conducted. PSA also confirmed that this also affects Pagagawan (original name) vs. Datu Montawal (new name without plebiscite). So I would support renaming Datu Montawal back to Pagagawan as well, but probably needs a separate RM. —seav (talk) 12:17, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
