Isn't 'summation' the adding together of BOTH excitatory AND inhibitory potentials?

edit

The article, referring to spatial and temporal summation, says, "Both types of summation are the result of adding together many excitatory potentials." But isn't 'summation' the adding together of BOTH excitatory AND inhibitory potentials?UnderEducatedGeezer (talk) 09:51, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Yes you are correct. Jimmyjohnslaser (talk) 17:21, 26 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

This page states the resting potential of a neuron is -70 mV though this is the standard, the resting potential is different depending on the cell type. Should this be noted?Jimmyjohnslaser (talk) 17:27, 26 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
