Education in Malaysia is greatly influenced by the "kiasu" culture. One would be incredulous to come across high school students who are planning for their tertiary education to include top-ranked institutions such as Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Purdue or Yale. This unfortunately, often means that branding and image overrule quality as students apply ivy-league rules to local institutions.

Taylor's College page in Wikipedia very much so sounds like an advertisement, compared to the lean information provided for other colleges such as Sunway or INTI. Readers should find out more from the official website or cantact the institution personally to see if they walk the talk.

I have attempted to tidy this up today - been to visit on a few occasions, so have some idea on the place, but would appreciate people checking my heavy edits. Hopefully, read less like an advert now, and more neutral. If anyone can check facts and add sources for the claims, that would be great Steve-Ho 09:42, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

James Taylor?

Just wanted to point out that James Taylor has nothing to do with Taylor's college, and that 'You've got a friend' is not a Malaysian treasure, as the article currently points out134.115.148.104 (talk) 03:43, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Reverting

Copyright violations were found in the list of partners (by me) and in the first section (since October). I've reverted back to the last version that didn't have copyright violations that I can find, after some deletions. - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 04:29, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Objection to speedy delete

I created this article back in 2005. When I last edited it (in August 2005) it was a stub article with the following text:

Taylors College is a private college offering pre-university and tertiary programmes. It is located in the township of Subang Jaya, near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Taylors College offers degree courses in association with several international universities, including both the University of Reading and the University of Sheffield in England, the University of Technology in the Australian city of Sydney, and the University of Toulouse in France.

I cannot remember where I got the information from. Of course WP was a different place in 2005 without its current (and entirely justified) emphasis on citing sources, so sadly I obviously didn't. My guess is that I probably came at it from writing the linked University of Reading article, having found a reference to Taylors in my source for that.

None of the above looks like copyvio, in fact bits of it are recognisably my writing style.

If this is not a copyvio, speedy delete is surely the wrong course of action. The correct course is to revert the article to the point prior to which the copyvio was introduced. And then, if possible, add back in any non-copyvio subsequent additions. Otherwise we will just get disruptive editors deliberately introducing copyvios in order to get articles deleted. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 12:43, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

The author of "Taylor's University College" should not refer to it as "Taylors College", as "Taylors College" is an Australian college which does not relate to "Taylor's University College". -- User:SGA101 —Preceding undated comment added 00:44, 31 March 2010 (UTC).

Larged unsourced table of claims

As is, entirely unsourced. Most of it is trivial even if it could be sourced. But i place it here in case it's of use to another editor (a handful of these things, if sourced, might be mentionable).Bali ultimate (talk) 15:25, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

I notice that the large unsourced table of university advertising has been restored (without discussion here) by what appears to be a single-article editor, possibly with a conflict of interest (WP:COI. It's unreferenced and unencylopaedic - I propose deletion of any trivial and all unreferenced claims here.Reg porter (talk) 11:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

There is only 1 Taylor's University

The fact that there is only 1 campus that is acknowledged as a university shows that those unnecessary history needs to be removed. I'll be removing some unnecessary information and update some to improve this stub.Sultanified (talk) 07:50, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Merge (that has never been resolved)

The Taylor's School of Engineering is, quite frankly, a mess. It could easily be shortened and summarized in this article .
