Test Drive 3 free roaming

edit

The free roaming aspect of TD3 was revolutionary, and TD4 removed this ability (this is covered in the article). Did any of the later TD releases reintroduce this ability? Or were there any other games that had this? Users like me coming to the TD3 reference for this reason want something to follow up on... 150.101.78.49 (talk) 04:31, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It was reintroduced to the series with Test Drive Unlimited. I think most Need for Speed games from Underground onwards had similar features. 178.38.56.94 (talk) 22:36, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

off-road 3

edit

I edited the test drive off-road part to include test drive off-road 3. I don't know how the maker of this article mist it but could someone please verify test drive off-road Wide open

chard

My guess is that the original author of the article only had MobyGames to go on, as it seems MobyGames doesn't have a listing for Test Drive Off-Road 3. This is especially odd given that the MobyGames entry for Test-Drive: Off-Road: Wide Open describes it as a sequel to Test Drive Off-Road 3. --HunterZ 21:40, 11 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
  • Test Drive Off-Road 3 is very rare, and it is considered obselete by hardcore gamers, but it is well liked by TD fans. We should have lots of info and more screenshots on the article. We need to include details about the Off-Road series,

does anyone know is testdrive unlimited will be for pc as well? because if it is i will definantly buy it.Chardrc 22:24, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

does anyone know if "test drive lemans" was officialy part of the test drive seieries? i just came across it and wanted to bring it up. Chardrc 22:24, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Yes, TD LeMans is part of the series. TD Unlimited is only for XBOX 360, not anything else, maybe the PS2.

NPOV

edit

I realize this article has been created by fans, but it often seems to go outside the bounds of pure NPOV, such as when it defends the game against poor critical reception and lists the positive aspects without the negatives. Aerothorn 19:15, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

First for PC

edit

I removed the text that said the game was first made for PC. Who says that it is true? C64 and Atari ST versions may have been made simultaneously. --80.221.30.182 20:45, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Test Drive Unlimited platform

edit

The article says TDU is "confirmed" for 360, PS3 and Revolution... as far as I know,

  • XB360: certain, considering IGN have a preview of it
  • PS3: possible/probable but, as far as I can see, unconfirmed
  • Revolution: almost certainly not - this game's all about graphics and MMO, neither of which the Revolution will be particularly hot on

Can somone who knows more about this than me check this up? Thanks.Tyrhinis 14:28, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I added a small blurb about the free demo available on the Xbox Live Marketplace starting May 8, 2006. I will update it later this afternoon with more detailed information on what the demo entails. --JOK3R 15:49, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK I added some more information :) --JOK3R 15:56, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I spiced it up a bit with the second demos information. Kinglink 18:38, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Next generation

edit

How can Test Drive (2002) have kicked off Test Drive on next-gen platforms (meaning current gen)? Le Mans was a Dreamcast game. Ace of Sevens 02:08, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Did we miss a version?

edit

Test Drive: Stunt Driver? (Not sure of exact name.) This one was on Macintosh and had Lamborghini LM02 SUV as one of the vehicles. Closed track run with jumps and loops. The LM02 was the only vehicle that could go off the 90* right turn before a big loop with enough traction to recover and make the loop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.83.154.45 (talkcontribs) 14 September 2006

Most probably, you meant Stunts (video game). Has it been released for Macintosh under the Test Drive label? --Krótki 14:41, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Test Drive 4x4

edit

Hey! What about Test Drive 4x4? Its one of my favorite ones! Featured Gravity Kills, Fear factory, Sevendust in the Soundtrack —Preceding unsigned comment added by Felipe La Rotta (talkcontribs)

I don't know. Why don't you add it? — Frecklefoot | Talk 17:26, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'm working on it, but there is not much information about this game on the net. See, this is the cover http://www.juegomania.org/Test+Drive+4x4/fotos/pc/8/8011_c/Caratula+Test+Drive+4x4.jpg I think is rare

Test Drive 5 soundtrack

edit

It was earlier listed on the soundtrack listing for Test Drive 5 that there is a song by Junkie XL on there called Def Beat. Well I uploaded Def Beat and that's not it. Any other claims of which one it is? --Imax80 22:46, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

How did Tst Drive unlimated come out in 2006 for PC, in England it came out around Friday 20th April 2007? Did it come out far later for England or is this date wrong?

Fair use rationale for Image:ST Test Drive.png

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. The result of the move request was: moved. Rough consensus that the video game series is the primary topic by both usage and long-term significance. (non-admin closure)Uanfala (talk) 13:59, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

– Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by pageviews. The EP gets very few views and the short film only uses it as a subtitle. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 21:54, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Crouch, Swale Video game series spans since 1987 (!), meaning it trumps the EP in long-term significance by far. Jovanmilic97 (talk) 09:46, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
I was meaning the generic Test drive. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:49, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
See WP:DIFFCAPS (which specifically mentions situations like Iron maiden vs. Iron Maiden, or Ice cube vs. Ice Cube). That is established Wikipedia policy so there wouldn't be any conflict between Test drive and Test Drive. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 17:22, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Adding to my point I see a strong enough case to move. Of the two opposes, the first argument suggesting that this isn’t the primary topic due to the generic term Test drive is directly contradicted by a policy subjection WP:DIFFCAPS and the second has offered no evidence to support their position.--65.93.195.118 (talk) 18:29, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
