Your school also has a track and cross country team, please remember this. --SeanMcG 05:06, 20 January 2006 (UTC) Added purpose and distinctive programs information from the school viewbook and website. Cwbeeson (talk) 00:27, 15 December 2009 (UTC)CwbeesonReply

Notable Alumni

edit

The list of notable alumni is somewhat of a joke. Few, if any, would meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. I do not know if there is an official policy on "Notable Alumni", does anyone else? In my opinion, listing relatively non-notable individuals under the "Notable Alumni" heading makes the school seem desperate. I think any alumni should be removed unless there is some kind of citation to show fame. Perhaps we could call the section "Most Notable Alumni" or simply "Alumni". No offense to anyone listed. Thoughts?--Trentblase (talk) 11:52, 12 February 2008 (UTC) Updated alumni information from Athenian's records, including distinctions. Cwbeeson (talk) 16:09, 15 December 2009 (UTC)CwbeesonReply

The usual definition of "notable" is "having a Wikipedia biography". In other words, a blue-linked name. That is sometimes stretched for folks who would clearly qualify, but don't have an article yet.   Will Beback  talk  19:11, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

extra clubs

edit

...granted, was athenian '02, but we had a 'Meat Club' (where we essentially BBQed meat with kitchen's grills) and an 'Anime Club' (cause, well, we were (are?) a bunch of geeks). they still around? if so, they should be added to the clubs section of the article. JoeSmack Talk 18:14, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

no, meat club is no longer around they had in&out days for a while but not anymore, i don't think.

Dyke Brown?

edit

I have to know: why did Franklin Moore Brown change his name to "Dyke"?

Brown died in December 2006. There's a great editorial obit at sfgate that shows that he is more than notable enough to merit his own article. See http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/12/24/MNBROWNFRA3.DTL and http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/12/20/BAG91N2RMP1.DTL&feed=rss.bayarea The paid death notice is at http://www.legacy.com/SFGate/DeathNotices.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonId=20380971

Needs photos

edit

The only images on this page are graphics of the mascot and the logo. If anyone has or can take photographs of the school, please add them to the article.

Athenian Wilderness Experience

edit

Someone should add a section to the page describing AWE. It made a change in my life

Bias

edit

Bias is again creeping into the school writeup, adding point of view and subjective words. I suspect someone in the development department has been making changes.

This comment is unsigned and undated. I see no bias besides the possibly dubious classification of certain alumni as "notable". I am removing the neutrality flag. If you dispute this change, please voice your opinions here and state how the article is biased.--Trentblase (talk) 11:41, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I made this article more NPOV, thus editing out sections that may shine the Athenian School in a favorable light.

You don't have to take this stuff out, necessarily. Just say that "The school claims X" and it becomes POV neutral. You can cite their website in this case. --Trentblase 05:44, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please sign your talk page posts. As for adding categories, put something like this at the end of the article: [[Category:High schools in California]]. — Emiellaiendiay 22:50, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
