Per WP:CONSISTENCY, the titles should be consistent with other titles of soundtrack articles. The Bodyguard (soundtrack) → The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album – The title of this album is "The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album" as indicated by the album cover, the official website, and various reliable sources such as Rolling Stone, Billboard, The Telegraph, NYT, The Grammys, etc, etc, etc. Normally there wouldn't be a problem with an article being given the same title as both the official and most common one. However, several times over the years the title has been moved to the current one of The Bodyguard (soundtrack) under the rationales of consistency and precision. Consistency is an erroneous rationale, as we frequently use the full name if that is the common usage, see Category:Film_soundtracks. Precision is also erroneous, as we tend not to shorten the titles of books, films, or works of art, if the titles are already quite short and in common usage. "The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album" is an acceptable title, it is not too long or awkward, is in common and widespread usage among most reliable sources, particularly those who deal with this subject matter, and such a title is often used on Wikipedia: 28 Weeks Later: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, The Bourne Supremacy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Home Alone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Ninety-Nine Nights Original Soundtrack, Orange County: The Soundtrack, True Grit: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Woodstock: Music from the Original Soundtrack and More, etc, etc. These are just a sample. Yes, there are also a lot with "(soundtrack)", but the point of consistency is not to change titles that don't need changing in order to match those that did need disambiguating, but that when we do need to disambiguate, we do so in a consistent manner. • Oppose - Those currently titled with subtitles should have their notabilities verified. 28 Weeks Later: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is not independently notable, may fail GNG, and should be merged into 28 Weeks Later. Same for The Bourne Supremacy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and probably Home Alone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, even with the Academy Award nomination. Meanwhile, there is nothing wrong with the current setup of The Bodyguard soundtrack. It is shorter, concise, and easier to type. Also, most of the sources were released at the time of the soundtrack's original release. The most convincing logic to change the title to the official one would be having a separate original score release. But then there are Amazing Grace (soundtrack) and Amazing Grace (score), both of which... may have dubious notabilities. --George Ho (talk) 17:20, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
• Oppose. The expanded title seems to be used about one-sixth as often as the current title [1] [2]. Despite the extended rationale, this nomination appears based on a misconception of what the correct title of the article should be.
