GA Reassessment

As part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles' Project quality task force, I am re-reviewing this article to ensure compliance with current good article criteria. I have determined that it doesn't meet criteria for the reasons outlined below and needs a bit of work if it is to retain its status.

  • The main issue is one of comprehensiveness. The article simply hasn't kept up with the time and suffers from a lack of information on recent developments. The reception section is pitifully small and outdated, lacking information about ratings, and there's no mention of the series' cultural impact, even with it shunted to another article. "Other honors" reads like a jumble of laundry listings. Small stubby sections (iTunes, the book, DVDs) should be merged to merchandise, fleshed out and expanded. There are tons of one or two line "paragraphs" that need to be merged elsewhere, turning into real paragraphs, or cut.
  • The second big issue is the excessive use on non-free images for decoration. File:Thecolbertgang.jpg, File:Colbert report.jpg, File:Colbertreport.jpg, File:Colbert-truthiness.jpg, and File:Colbertoreilly.jpg do not significantly add to the article per WP:NFCC.

Given the sheer size of the issues above, I do not think a week will be enough to redress them. Therefor I am boldly delisting the article. Remember that an article can be renominated at WP:GAN at any time an editor feels it meets current criteria. If you have any comments or wish for a more detailed remuneration of the above, direct them to my talk page, as I do not watchlist old reviews.
