editFWIW, the photo of Kirk facing the Horta is not of Shatner. It is that of a stand-in -- the hair, posture, shape of the head are not Shatner's. The stand-in was used, as noted in the article, for the few days Shatner took off to attend his father's funeral. Sir Rhosis 02:21, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
2006 Remastering
editSince these eps have been digitally remastered yet again, with the minuature footage being replaced with CGI, I've added a section dealing with the changes. I propose that all episodes receive updates with this section.
This Episode's Influences on Culture
edit"The Devil in the Dark" was not only the inspiration for the filk song "Demon in the Dark" by Julia Ecklar, but the filk song was itself parodied by Bob Kanefsky with his parody "Mineral Rights" (vocalist Leslie Fish). Personally I prefer the parody to the original filk song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lmauler (talk • contribs) 03:57, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
