Reviewer: Peripitus (talk · contribs) 10:38, 23 April 2014 (UTC) I'm quick failing this article as there are three very significant issues. I have not reviewed it's comprehensiveness, accuracy or the appropriateness of referencesReply

  • The lead section is far too short and lacks most of the material it should contain- it has to summarise the article whereas this one is a two-sentence introduction
  • Writing style. The writing includes grammatical errors, convoluted sections and disjointed sentences.
  • "The height of its walls measures 36.6 metres (120 ft) from the ground". What else would they be measured from ? -> "Its walls are 36.6 metres (120ft) high"
  • "It spent close to another S$300 million converting Fullerton Building into a hotel and building the two-storey commercial complex One Fullerton opposite Fullerton Road" . Close to means the same as almost, where is opposite Fullerton road ? Does this all men "Almost S$300 million was spent converting the building into a hotel and on building One Fullerton, a two-storey commercial complex on the opposite side of Fullerton Road"
  • "The building has Neo-classical architectural features which include fluted Doric colonnades on their heavy base, and the lofty portico over the main entrance with trophy designs and the Royal Coat of Arms, crafted by Italian Cavaliere Rudolfo Nolli"… Did Nolli just craft the coat of arms or the whole building or the trophy designs and the coat of arms? A Collonade is a row of columns. Does this mean there is more than one row ? Does this mean "Collonades of heavy based Doric columns surround the building ?" "and the lofty" should be "a lofty"
  • "Architects 61, together with DP Consultants, was engaged to convert it into a 400-room luxury hotel. "The hotel rooms were designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates …. "were" not "was"….better as "Architects 61 and DP Consultants were engaged to convert it to a 400-room luxury hotel, using rooms designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates"
  • Too close paraphrasing in the article. In fact there are significant portions of the article that appear copied from the sources. These need to be extensively re-written. The changes to the text taken from the article's referenced are too minimal. Even some poor grammar has been copied across.
  • "The building's neo-classical columns and high-ceiling verandas were retained. It was clad in Shanghai plaster panels, which have been restored"
  • in http://www.historichotelsworldwide.com/hotels-resorts/the-fullerton-hotel-singapore/ "The Fullerton Hotel’s neo-classical columns and high-ceiling verandas have been retained, along with the beautiful Shanghai plaster panels"
  • "The owners converted the windows back to be housed in timber frames"
  • likewise in the reference "Even the windows were converted back to be housed in timber frames"
  • In that place "The grey Aberdeen granite building sits on 442,400 sq. feet of land, with its walls towering 36.58 m (120 feet) from the ground. The neo-classical architectural features include fluted Doric colonnades on their heavy base, and the lofty portico over the main entrance with trophy designs and the Royal Coat of Arms, crafted by Rudolpho Nolli"
  • In the article "The grey Aberdeen granite Fullerton Building sits on 41,100 square metres (442,400 square feet) of land. The height of its walls measures 36.6 metres (120 ft) from the ground. The building has Neo-classical architectural features which include fluted Doric colonnades on their heavy base, and the lofty portico over the main entrance with trophy designs and the Royal Coat of Arms, crafted by Italian Cavaliere Rudolfo Nolli. Originally, there were five distinct frontages, each treated in the Doric order. 14 elevators served the four floors plus the basement floors"

The article needs a complete check for copyright issues, rewriting or removing suspect sections, turning into better flowing prose and a lead section that summarises all of the article. - Peripitus (Talk) 10:38, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
