This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because links to sources other than the charity's website have been added --Bluhdorn (talk) 01:12, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Simply because references are added, that doesn't give you permission to copy verbatim text from a website and stick it here. --Lixxx235 (talk) 02:56, 27 May 2014 (UTC) One quick question: do all the posts here come from representatives of a single company? Thanks Lixxx235 (talk) 02:56, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

No they are not all from representatives of this not-for-profit charity organisation.

This page was originally set up by someone else and a lot of the information was incorrect, out of date and vague. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beckaleo (talkcontribs) 05:27, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

edit

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because the organisation has given permission for this content (which is factually correct) to be used as a base for writing the content for wikipedia. The previous content was incorrect, not relevant and contained many spelling mistakes. We are a small charity heavily relying on online pages to feature what we are doing. There is no commercial aim other than helping the less fortunate in this world.

There are many external links included of people and organisations that can verify this content being factually correct.

If you have further concerns, it would be great to hear what they are and how they can be addressed.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Please provide a link to the website where it specifically is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts), as per WP:Donating copyrighted materials. And WP:NOBLE Lixxx235 (talk) 03:01, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Could you please elaborate on what that means? ^^ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beckaleo (talkcontribs) 05:29, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Meaning that there must be a notice on the website that the text of the website is "licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts)". We cannot accept content otherwise, even with express permission by the copyright holders that Wikipedia is allowed to use the text. On every edit, above the "save change" button, it says "By clicking the "Save page" button, you agree to the Terms of Use and you irrevocably agree to release your contribution under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL with the understanding that a hyperlink or URL is sufficient for CC BY-SA 3.0 attribution". Thank you. Lixxx235 (talk) 14:27, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Discuss references

edit
  • I removed the reference to the first paragraph, as the pdf there had not a single mention to "Kokoda"
  • The source for "The Chairman of KTF is Patrick Lindsay" is primary, fails WP:NOTABLE
  • First source for "Well known board members include Yahoo Serious and Bill James" is primary, fails WP:NOTABLE
  • Second source for "Well known board members include Yahoo Serious and Bill James" is a link to another Wikipedia article, which is not well sourced either, and I have removed it
  • On third source for "Well known board members include Yahoo Serious and Bill James" does not even contain the word "kokoda" and has been removed
  • The entire section "KTF's Mission" is not NPOV and so citation, while not in dispute about factual accuracy, should not be kept, and also primary
  • The sentence "In 2009, Dr Genevieve Nelson became the first executive director of the foundation" is completely irrelevant to the section, "KTF's work in Papua New Guinea"
  • Reference for section "Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel Scholarships" removed, because nothing on there even remotely mentions Kokoda
  • Reference for "Kokoda college" was removed because primary source cannot show how other people "see this as a beacon of hope"
  • In "Elementary and Primary Teacher Training" reference is published by Kokoda and does not establish "Local primary and elementary teachers are urgently needed" or In partnership with the PNG Education authorities, the Foundation has trained 56 elementary teachers in the past via its Certificate of Elementary Teaching"

I don't mean to be insulting here- I spent a lot of time doing this as well- but I believe that this article, while made in good faith, does not belong on Wikipedia. This is not finished. Lixxx235 (talk) 02:27, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ugh, I can't finish the references Lixxx235 (talk) 03:06, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
