This article is a breezy PR Advertisement puff piece. It lacks the quality necessary for it to be an encyclopedia article, basically, it is an advertisement to encourage tourism to the "Lost Sierras" area.
Although the article is about the "Lost Sierras", the term's true origin and context are not included. This omission, just in itself, indicates that this is just a superficial "gloss" and not a work of serious research. The "origin of the term" section is speculation and not creditable.
The article rambles on into a general history of areas of Plumas County that are not part of the "Lost Sierra" ethos.
This article needs to be rewritten so that it actually characterizes what the "Lost Sierras" was historically, what the "Lost Sierras" means today as a "mythological" concept for the "area", and why the term was selected for current use by the Plumas County tourist agency.
