– per WP:BANDDAB. Three months ago, on Youtube, I heard The Stargazers 1950s are mainly vocalists and I read on Wikipedia, the 80s group is a band. So "(decade + group)" not allowed to be used, right? -St3095 (?) 06:49, 17 August 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 15:06, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Bob Brown

edit

I'm struggling to find biographical details for Bob Brown, who was a member of The Stargazers in the early 1950s. According to contemporary press reports, he was aged 36 in November 1955, 37 in September 1955 or 34 in February 1951. That would mean he was born between 1917 and 1919. I believe he was from Sheffield, and his parents lived in Blackpool when he was well-known. He played the cornet, and later became a producer at Radio Luxembourg. Unfortunately, with such an ordinary name, it would be rather difficult to find him in the birth and death indexes etc. Can anyone help with further information? Marie Benson

edit

Hard to find exact birth and date details for the original female singer in The Stargazers, Marie Benson. Born 30 April 1928 and died 2003, according to Discogs. 45cat says 30 April 1926. I can't find any newspaper articles or public records with dates. I believe her birth name was Marie Harriott, or possibly Herriott. Can anyone help please?
