Hey there! I'm going to be taking a look at this (probably more in depth tomorrow when I've taken my ADHD medication). Any section marked with a   Working tag means I haven't finished combing through it, but feel free to start making changes before I've finished my review! Infobox and lede

  • "After giving birth to her first child in 2011"

Background and development

edit
  • The last sentence of the first paragraph reads awkwardly. I think it's because the most important piece of information (her management team suggesting that she could release a new album) is in the middle as opposed to at either end.
How should I rephrase the last sentence? Truly got no idea. - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 20:55, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "In March 2012, Pink confirmed via Twitter that she had begun..."
  • "She later detailed the process of crafting the record in an open letter to fans posted on her official website" → "In an open letter to her fans posted on her official website, she detailed the process of crafting the record,"
  • Comma after "fall of the same year"

Writing and recording

edit
  • I'm a little confused as to what Suite 203 is, i.e. whether it's attached to one of the other studios or if it's its own thing
To be completely honest, I'm just as confused as well. In the album credits, it is specified that "Here Comes The Weekend" was recorded at Suite 203, but that's it. No details about location or anything. I tried to look up on the internet but I found no information about this location. And according to this website, The Truth About Love is the only album recorded there. Very suspicious. - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 21:05, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "whereas first-time collaborators include" → "as well as first-time collaborators"
  • Quotations around "an experiment"
  • Specify in body who Greg Kurstin is
  • "which—according to Kurstin—" → "which, according to Kurstin,"
  • Ben West curently links to a former Nashville mayor. Looks like there isn't a page for the musician, so just cut that WL
  • ""Try" was later played during a label meeting, and the director eventually pitched the song to Pink after hearing it." → "After hearing it at a label meeting, the director of RCA agreed to pitch the song to Pink."
  • "Busbee furthered that Pink accepted to record "Try" and "it was one of the first outside songs she had recorded in a long time"." → "Pink accepted the offer to record "Try", which Busbee said "was one of the first outside songs she had recorded in a long time"."

Music and lyrical interpretation

edit
  • Alright, so WP:RSP says that Editors also advise against using AllMusic's genre classifications from the website's sidebar. However, the editorial review says that it is a "big pop album", so I'm fine with the inclusion, but I think it would be bolstered by another genre citation.
  • Specify that it is a "marked change" in terms of Pink's singing, not necessarily lyrically or instrumentally.
  • "from the Associated Press"
  • "claimed for it to be documenting" → "suggested that the album documented"
  • WL "keyboards" to keyboard instrument
  • Transition needed between talking about "Are We All We Are" and "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)"
  • No need for apostrophes before 1980s, 1970s, and 1960s, as the apostrophe would only be to indicate that you were cutting off the "19"
  • "pleading with a partner and striving to stay together", or "as they strive to stay together"
  • "on which Lily Allen is a featured vocalist" → "with guest vocals from Lily Allen"
  • "proceeded by" → "followed by" (or some other synonym -- want to avoid homophone confusion with "preceded by")
  • "The final track of the deluxe edition, "Good Old Days","

Release and artwork

edit
  • "In 2011, RCA Music Group announced that it would be disbanding the record labels Jive Records, Arista, and J Records."
  • "Pink and all other artists who were previously signed to those labels would in future release material through RCA Records." → "All artists previously signed to those labels, including Pink, would release their future material through RCA Records."
  • remove comma after "September 17, 2012"
  • commas around "featuring four extra tracks"
  • Mysterious number "3" in the second paragraph
  • "six additional songs, as well as"
  • WL music video
  • "never-before-seen" → "exclusive" or something of the sort

Promotion

edit
  • "an extensive marketing plan for the album."
  • Ref [69] doesn't actually specify that she premiered new songs at the festival
  • Pipe demo to Demo (music) and leaking to Internet leak
  • "attained the top ten" → "reached the top ten" OR "attained top ten status"
  • commas around "True Love"
  • commas around "interspersed with clips from a tour performance"

Personnel

edit
  • This section should be called "Credits and personnel', as recording studios are not personnel
  • The recording locations listed here don't match up with the studios in the infobox and body, but I don't have the booklet on me to provide additional guidance
Added all the recording studios and put them all under a collapsible list - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 21:32, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • WL Santa Monica in the recording locations section, not the engineering locations
  • I don't think you need to include "recording", "engineering", or "mixing" next to locations that are under a subhead for those things already
  • WL "engineer" to Audio engineer
  • WL "mixing" to Audio mixing (recorded music)

References

edit
  • Ref [2] is dead. You've already got it archived, which is great, just need to switch the "url-status" accordingly.
Ref [2] works though? - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 21:39, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • RCA Records is listed as the publisher in ref [7] and the work everywhere else. I'm not super nitpicky as long as it's consistent.
  • Make sure all of the Rolling Stone references are marked with "|url-access=subscription"
  • Make sure the New York Times reference is marked with "|url-access=limited"
  • Make sure the Washington Post reference is marked with "|url-access=limited"
  • Make sure the Chicago Tribune reference is marked with "|url-access=subscription"

General/other comments

edit
  • Edit history is stable
  • Copyvio score looks good at 26.5% -- everything that turned up red is a song name or a direct quote.
  • Photos generally look good. Small nitpick is that the captions on the thumbnails should all end in a period.

  Done Added a period to all the captions. - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 21:41, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Final comments and verdict

Fantastic first start! I'm going to put the review   On hold so you can make the suggested tweaks. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help! Kncny11 (shoot) 16:44, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Kncny11: Hi there! Thank you very much for diving into this enormous article. I hope I covered every suggestion and issue, except where noted. Please let me know if I missed something or if there's anything else I can do. Greets; - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 21:43, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Gabrielflorin01: Thanks! Not sure why that one ref wasn't working for me yesterday, but I took a crack at rephrasing that one sentence. Now that everything's been addressed, I think this is ready to go ahead and promote! Kncny11 (shoot) 17:38, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
