bordello
editI put a "clarify" tag on this: "The natural and domestic setting thus becomes a bordello..." What does this mean? That the painting depicts a bordello, not a harem? Is there a source for this? Kendall-K1 (talk) 15:24, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Recent edits
editI'm not going to revert, but the latest set of edits made quite a mess. The lead section is now way too long and does not summarize the article; see WP:LEAD. A section that had been commented out has now been restored; I don't know why it was commented out but I'm not sure it should have been restored either. I think some sourced material has been removed, but it's hard to tell because of the way the edits were made; missing edit summaries makes it particularly hard to figure this out. There are a bunch of new refs that were simply added to the refs section and not inline, or maybe they were also put inline, but either way that's not the way to cite these sources; see Wikipedia:Citing sources. And there are many, many typos, too many for me to fix them all. Kendall-K1 (talk) 17:35, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, it's a mess, but the old version wasn't that great. He started by a new article under the French title, presumably now all dumped here. There is decent text, but it all needs careful sorting out, unless he's going to do it. References would be nice too. Johnbod (talk) 17:45, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
