Angelopoulos passed away tonight
editSomeone who knows how to do it may edit the article. It was announced at the dawn of 25 January 2012. He was hit by a motorcycle. Source in Greek: http://news.in.gr/culture/article/?aid=1231147070 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.72.216.135 (talk) 22:22, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
It would be more respectful to say simply that he died, rather than "passed away", a term with religious connotations that he would not have approved and that appears far too often on this supposedly NPOV encyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.60.164.42 (talk) 10:03, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, "passed away" is more of a politically-correct term used by people who don't like to face death and dying. Regardless, it shouldn't be used.Nojamus (talk) 05:36, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Back when Roger Ebert was making films with Russ Meyer...
editCrass, universally panned films about chicks with big tits Theo was at least making an attempt to make film. His opinion is hardly relevant and thus I edited it out. I still don't get wiki's obsession with Egbert, but I get Egbert publicist's obsession with wiki. RIP Theo, as one who didn't much enjoy your movies you deserve better than some hack like Egbert passing judgment on you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.68.228.210 (talk) 22:08, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- It seems unfair to condemn Ebert the film critic for what Ebert the film writer did decades ago. Jealous? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.60.164.42 (talk) 10:04, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Last movie "The Other Sea"
editIs there any information on how far the production advanced and if the movie might be completed one day? --92.73.27.188 (talk) 23:44, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
Chronology of his father's arrest and the Greek Civil War
editIn the current version, it is stated that "During the Greek Civil War, [Angelopoulos's] father was taken hostage and returned when Angelopoulos was 9 years old." This means that his father must have "returned" in 1944, since Angelopoulos was born in 1935. However, the Greek Civil War was fought between 1946 and 1949, and even the earliest episode of the "prelude", according to the Wikipedia entry, wouldn't take place until December 3, 1944. I'm wondering if "[d]uring the Greek Civil War" is inaccurate, and also what events actually lead to his father's arrest (and the subsequent release). Hopechen (talk) 06:19, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
