Thirumurugan s/o Veeran → Thirumurugan Veeran – Not sure what that "s/o" means in middle of this name ?! can't find anything about it in English sources. his name is Thirumurugan Veeran all over the net. Mohsen1248 (talk) 19:30, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
- Support MOS:SLASH avoid slashes -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 02:49, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
- MOS:SLASH is about article content, not titles. WP:NC-SLASH discusses article titles, and says "article names can contain slashes if appropriate, as in Providence/Stoughton Line – there is no need for such titles to be fixed" (my emphasis). We use slashes where the common name includes a slash, as in Re Shankar Alan s/o Anant Kulkarni or S/O Satyamurthy. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 03:37, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Slashes cause a whole host of problems with page names. They appear as WP:SUBPAGEs and the software treats it as such on the talk pages associated with those articles. People familiar with the internet will also think it is a URL path division. So slashes should be avoided whenever possible -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 03:07, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

- Support. First name and last name. S/O stands for son of. See also Patronymic. I found that the article David Ben-Gurion do not omit Ben-? It is supposed to be David Gurion. Alexander Iskandar (talk) 16:48, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
- No, David Ben-Gurion's article should be, and is, titled by his WP:COMMONNAME --- which is not "David Gurion". 210.6.254.106 (talk)
- Support WP:COMMONNAME judging from Google, it's a bit more common to refer to him without the s/o or a/l (i.e. Veeran Thirumurugan 500 GHits or Thirumurugan Veeran 1000 GHits) than with them (400 for s/o, 700 for a/l). Additionally, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Malaysia-related articles#Indian names suggests omitting "son of"/"daughter of" abbreviations from article titles (though it suggests including them in the article lede). 210.6.254.106 (talk) 03:37, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
