Renaming article

edit

Can someone tell me how to rename this article? Robson used his stage name (Frederick Robson), and is also sometimes listed under his birth name (Thomas Brownbill), but this article conflates them: also there is a typo (Brownhill for Brownbill)RLamb (talk) 05:56, 13 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

It seems that you already renamed it, correct? -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:27, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, the previous name was apparently taken from an early encyclopedia and included a typo. Mollie Sands couldn't trace a christening record for him but he was certainly first known as Brownbill. By the end of his life though his wife, his children and even his mother, who outlived him, were calling themselves Robson.RLamb (talk) 19:50, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Article review

edit

I did a quick review of the article. It is a very good start, but it needs more references, and the book references need page numbers in each case. Consider moving some of the footnote material to the text. -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:27, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your help, it's been really useful trying to achieve some consistency in referencing. I know the article's incomplete as I've left his private life till later, and also I need to add more on the highlights of his career.
I have a problem in that some of the references I quote, such as the James one, are really lifted from the Robson bio by Mollie Sands - and she doesn't give page numbers. That said, I think her book is truly well-researched.RLamb (talk) 19:42, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
What do you think of a section on Robson's place in the development of acting styles? There is an article on this: Craven Mackie, ‘Frederick Robson and the Evolution of Realistic Acting’, Educational Theatre Journal Vol. 23, No. 2, May, 1971 (though I can't access it, it's on JStor).RLamb (talk) 22:01, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Pictures

It's a pity the pictures can't be side by side, I think the contrast is very funny. I shall try to find out how to resize the Robson image so it matches Ristori's more.RLamb (talk) 22:01, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
