In addition to adding for each year how many Class Is there are and which ones were added or removed, which I can't do for all years because I don't have access to all the ICC annual reports (I have a bunch of data at User:NE2/Class I table; the only early one I'm missing is 1915), here are some other things that need to be added or clarified (in addition to anything without at least a month or a reference):

  • NYNH&H gives up B&M
  • Details of ST leases, which were not all at once
  • Carolina and Northwestern acquired by Southern (between 1932 and 1935 per ICC reports, but they had close ties since at the latest 1917)
  • Van Sweringens: C&O, Erie, MP, PM were apparently only minority owned (User:NE2/Van Sweringens), but then ICC shows Erie under C&O control from 1938 until the 1941 reorganization, and what's with the NKP control of W&LE, not shown by ICC? And wasn't the Hocking controlled by the C&O since March 1910?
    • So the only thing definitely missing is when the C&O got control of the Erie.
  • Did the C&O control the C&EI?
  • Did the Reading always control the CNJ since 1901?
  • SJ&GI disappears (was still around in 1990 when part of its line was transferred to NEKM, Finance Docket No. 31482)
  • "CSX Rail Transport" appears (1986?) and disappears (1991), or was this just a "business unit"?
  • P&LE gets full control of Montour
  • SP buys half of SD&A
  • S&IE electrifies, and details of 1919-1927 reorganization; also was in receivership from 1933 to 1941?
  • CoG sells its half of WRA
  • PRR gets control of Wabash and Lehigh Valley - not sure if this really was in 1928
  • What caused the huge spike in Grand Canyon Railway revenues in 1916? User:NE2/Class I table and the linked reports show that revenues (in thousands) were 264 in 1914, 1002 in 1916, and 307 in 1917, with the increase mainly in passenger revenues (passenger counts were 49, 181, and 54; the 1914-1916 change was from 166 to 644 for the "passenger revenue" row, and 77 to 298 for the "station and train privileges" row). So there was a big boost in passengers, but why??
