Is it still a “Stalemate”?

Since January Russia has captured Soledar & the towns and villages around Bakhmut (excluding Chasiv Yar) Russia has almost captured the whole raion (county) of Bakhmut. The Flanks of Bakhmut are still under Ukraine they are still moving slowly. With regards to the action in Belgorod it might not be a stalemate much longer but for now it is. I sell eggs (talk) 14:52, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

Compared to the rapid Ukrainian advance in the previous phase, the fact that we're considering changes on the level of individual towns/villages shows that it's definitely slower than before. Chaotic Enby (talk) 17:30, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

Wagner loss are on Bakhmut and half of it is from convicts

Hi, The source on may 24 about Wagner's lost said the 20 000 casualties were on the Bakhmut battle and that 20% of the 50 000 convicts recruted (so 10 000) were lost too, meaning half of the 20 000 casualties are recruted convicts. Those two precisions (On Bakhmut and half of that is recruted convicts) seems worth mentioning.

Please compare this news article "permanent link" and this "liveblog" one. The latter appears to be a short summary of various recent news that quickly expires. Split of the timeline

• Support The Washington post article above lists numerous Ukrainian and Russian officials saying the counter offensive has begun, so I think it seems warranted to split the article as of at least June 8.

February 3, France and Italy promise a SAMP/T medium range air defence system
